Step Teachers offer graduates opportunities to gain classroom-based experience to enhance their application for teacher training providers. Each year, Step Teachers work with a number of graduates assisting them in gaining that vital experience but also helping those who are not sure if teaching is for them.

Cover Supervisor

The cover supervisor role is available in a secondary setting, where you will be delivering a pre-planned lesson to students, assisting them where possible, and managing the classroom behaviour. This is a great insight to teaching and gives you direct teaching experience without the responsibilities that teachers have, so you can solely focus on the direct teaching.

About yourself

• You will have completed or completing your teacher training

• Have an outstanding level of confidence, with an approachable but firm presence

• You will need to be an adaptable team player who strives for the success of their students

• Be able to grow and develop relationships with others quickly and effectively

Step Teachers originally started in Southgate, Barnet 21 years ago, since then we have built long-standing relationships with a large cohort of schools across North London, especially in Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, Hackney, Finchley, Wood Green, Islington, and the Tower Hamlet area. We are not limited to these areas so don’t worry if you are not located in or nearby. Our team members will give you an honest outlook on the area you are looking for.

If we secure you a long term contract, you may be employed by Step Teachers and be paid directly by ourselves, with this, we don’t want you missing out. You will still have many of the perks you would receive if you were employed by the school.
