Job description

A really friendly and welcoming school in Hertfordshire has asked us to find a Biology teacher for a permanent position commencing in March. The position of  Biology teacher would be suitable for Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) in addition to those with more experience. The school boasts an encouraging and creative ethos that strives to diversify and inspire every pupil's educational journey. As a Biology teacher you will be expected to practise these ideals in addition to the following requirements;

  • The successful candidate will hold positive values and attitudes and adopt high standards of behaviour in their professional role.
  • You will need confidence and a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and philosophy.
  • Highly effective communication skills with both children and adults, including parents/carers is seen as a key area of focus.
  • The appointed Biology teacher should motivate, enthuse, excite and challenge students to produce the highest quality work.
  • The successful Biology teacher should have demonstrable experience and an excellent working knowledge of Assessment for Learning.
  • Ideally the selected Biology teacher will have an undergraduate biology degree from a United Kingdom university at 2:1 or above.
