Job description
Step Teachers are working with a school with strong Jewish values based in Barnet, they are seeking a Creche Assistant to help support the Creche Manager day to day based in the nursery.
To provide a safe and stimulating environment for young children aged three months to three years
- To understand and work to the Beis Yaakov Creche policies and procedures e.g. child protection, health and safety, confidentiality
- To work to the National and Local Standards and Ofsted requirements
- To meet the needs of the children through physical care, relationships, play and interaction
- To contribute to a nurturing, stimulating and challenging environment for children both indoors and outdoors
- To respect confidentiality of children and their families
- To share in the responsibilities of promoting a positive approach to behaviour management and to be aware of the social needs of the children and sympathetic to their emotional needs
- To provide support, encouragement of parents/carers in relation to early childhood development and parenting.
- To maintain records, registers and report for monitoring, ensuring safety needs are met at all times
- To be involved in appropriate further training to ensure personal and professional development Essential
- Knowledge and understanding about the development needs of young children
- Understanding the importance of developing a positive parents and carers relationship
- Commitment to child-centred practice and the promotion of children’s rights
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in as part of a team Desirable
- A professional qualification, either an NNEB Diploma or NVQ 2
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage
- Experience of working with children in this age range
- First Aid Certificate
Hours of work: 8am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 8am - 12.45pm.
During summer holidays 8am - 3.30pm
Temporary to Permanent position starting in February 2022
