Job description

Step Teachers are a preferred supplier for Teach in Herts; as a part of our ongoing success in building and retaining relationships with many schools and academy trusts in the area we are currently looking for a Key Stage 1 Teacher, either experienced or ECT, in Bishop's Stortford to start in April for a long term supply role. The position is a full time one, with the contract initially until the end of the academic year, however the school will consider a part-time, job share alternative.

The position is at an Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ school with an ethos striving to create a happy and safe environment for every child to learn and challenge themselves.

Role:

  • Good knowledge of the KS1 curriculum

  • Maintain a tidy, organised classroom with accessible resources where needed

  • Direct and support any additional staff in the classroom where applicable

  • Ability to assess and report on your students when required

  • Able to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons

  • Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and implement them effectively 

Requirements:

  • Hold QTS or the equivalent of

  • Recent mainstream school-based experience teaching in a primary school

  • Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management

  • SEND experience is desirable
