Primary Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant with a Nursery Nurse (Level 3 or equivalent) qualification to join a friendly primary school on a long-term temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to combine early years expertise with primary classroom support, helping children thrive in their learning journey. Starting ASAP.

Duties as Primary Teaching Assistant:

• Provide support across the primary age range, with a focus on Early Years and Key Stage 1.

• Use your nursery nurse training to create engaging, play-based learning opportunities and nurture children’s social and emotional development.

• Work with class teachers to adapt lessons and activities to meet individual needs.

• Assist with assessment and record keeping, providing feedback to teachers and parents/carers.

• Maintain a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment, following safeguarding and health & safety procedures.

Ideal Primary Teaching Assistant:

• Nursery Nurse Level 3 (or equivalent Early Years Educator) qualification essential.

• Experience supporting children in a nursery or primary school setting.

• Excellent communication skills, patience and a nurturing approach.

• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and Key Stage 1 curriculum.

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils as a Primary Teaching Assistant.
