Job description

One of our long term client schools in North London has asked us to recruit a Teaching Assistant for a Reception class. The role of Reception TA will be a temporary position due to start as soon as possible. This school boasts an exquisitely diverse environment and works closely with pupils and staff to demonstrate a positive ethos. As a Reception TA, you will maintain the following attributes;

  • You will have a good understanding of Special Educational Needs and Educational Inclusion as a TA, and the needs of the more able and talented.
  • To comply with, support and promote all school policies and procedures, particularly those relating to child protection, equal opportunities, racial equality, health, safety and security, confidentiality, behaviour and data protection.
  • As a Reception TA you should have a creative and thoughtful approach to curriculum planning, demonstrating the ability to incorporate national trends and data sets into your approach.
  • At the heart of everything you do will be your passion for your subject and the desire to inspire and motivate pupils to excel.

We have been working with this school on a regular basis for the past few years and our teachers have always told us it is a lovely place to work. The pupils are well behaved and generally well supported in their studies at home and this is demonstrated by their progression through the School. Ofsted most recently graded them 'good’.

Candidates will be subject to a variety of checks including an enhanced DBS check, full references including your most recent employer and eligibility to work in the UK. Step Teachers are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.

Unlike other agencies, Step Teachers are more than happy to process your pay via PAYE – you will not be forced to go with an Umbrella Company.
