Job description

Step Teachers currently have an opportunity for an experienced Teacher of the Deaf at a fantastic school in North London. This is a Full-time, Long-term position set to commence in September 2019.  The successful candidate may be given a permanent contract with the school if they take to the role well and display positive attributes.

The School have asked for a proficient KS2 Teacher that has the following attributes:

  • Either a QTS or PGCE Certificate
  • Qualification as a Teacher of the Deaf is desirable
  • Must have experience in this type of role with positive results
  • Liaise with key members of staff regarding pupil development and progress
  • Ability to teach and inspire positive learning attitudes
  • Commit to the duration of this long-term role

This is a wonderful school which is proudly inclusive and culturally diverse. They have an outstanding support system for children with special needs and are new to learning English and have specialist provisions in place where children are fully integrated into mainstream classes. The dedicated staff work as a team to provide the best learning experience they can for all of the children within the school and have counsellors and learning mentors to ensure all children receive the care and support that they need.
