Job description

We have been asked to recruit a Graduate Teaching Assistant for a client’s school in Harrow starting as soon as possible.
 
Previous experience is desirable but not essential. 
 
The job role requires you to:
  • To teach, support and assess EAL pupils in all subjects, across the full age and ability range present in the school in order to ensure the highest possible standards of pupil achievement, personal development and well-being. 
  • Be able to work closely with the English department in order to collaborate on teaching, planning and learning so all EAL learners are being taught in line with the new GCSE English specification requirements. 
  • To support the SEN department with teaching support and assess SEN pupils across the full age and ability range as required. 
  • To demonstrate that measurable progress in student attainment has been made through your support and to impact positively upon students’ attitudes to learning. 
  • To assess students who are EAL and new to the school and plan withdrawal lessons according to their needs/requirements. 
  • Assessing new EAL learners who arrive with little or no English. Displaying an understanding of the processes and techniques required to assess, record and report student’s learning effectively to the EAL Co-ordinator.
