Hertfordshire Supply Teacher Service

Hertfordshire Supply Teacher Service

Step Teachers currently deliver the Hertfordshire Supply Teachers recruitment service in partnership with Herts for Learning, on behalf of Hertfordshire County Council (HCC).  We are one of two recruitment agencies that Hertfordshire County Council selected to deliver the service.  Step Teachers are proud to be partnered with one of the most highly performing education authorities in England.

Step Teachers helps thousands of schools, colleges and nurseries each year source the best local teaching talent for their students.  We are able to offer your school, whether local authority controlled, academy or independent, a solution based on quality candidates and stringent safeguarding rather than just discussing cost.

We are able to offer your school:

  • Emergency sickness and ad hoc cover teachers and support staff
  • Short-term supply options for interim solutions
  • Long-term and Permanent specialists
  • Specialist and honest advice
  • A transparent pricing and refund policy on placements
  • A safety first approach to safeguarding and vetting.

Is your school experiencing a shortage of specialist teachers?

There are parts of Hertfordshire that are experiencing real difficulties in recruiting the right teaching staff for their school.  Step Teachers is using its network of UK branches and international recruitment links to bridge this gap.

Let us know if you’ll consider candidates from our ‘Relocation Service’ and benefit from new teaching talent that wouldn’t normally respond to your job vacancies.

Email your vacancies to relocation@stepteachers.co.uk and we’ll provide you with a short list of suitable candidates.

Safer Recruitment & Vetting

Step Teachers takes its safeguarding role very seriously and all our workers are vigorously vetting before being selected for work.

Our vetting procedures are designed to surpass the requirements placed on us by the Department for Education’s 'Keeping Children Safe in Education' guidance document.  We are REC Education members and were awarded REC Audited Education Status in December 2013.

The following checks and procedures are carried out for all of our staff:

  • Full Identity check
  • Qualifications
  • DBS Barred List Check and NCTL Prohibition Check
  • DBS Enhanced Disclosure
  • References
  • Right to Work
