Step Teachers have partnered with a school in Barnet looking for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join their ASD unit within a mainstream school. This role is due to commence in September 2024. This SEND Teaching Assistant should be ready to engage with the school's atmosphere that promotes communication, development and learning in a diverse range of students.
SEND Teaching Assistant - Role:
• Making a positive impact on the lives of children with diverse learning needs.
• Assisting the class teacher with planning and delivery of activities.
• Supporting the development of children’s language and communication skills.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and providing pastoral support to children when required.
• Providing feedback to parents and carers on children’s progress and achievements.
SEND Teaching Assistant - Requirements:
- Minimum Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
- Specific experience working with ASD is highly desirable
- Previous experience working as an SEND Teaching Assistant in a Primary School.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
