Step Teachers are a preferred supplier for Teach in Herts; as a part of our ongoing success in building and retaining relationships with many schools and academy trusts in the area we are currently looking for Cover Supervisors in Watford to start immediately for supply work in secondary schools. The role can include daily supply work as well as long term contract roles

We work with a variety of schools in and around Watford. The role of a Cover Supervisor will allow you to gain teaching experience in a variety of secondary schools and experience what it is like to be in front of a class. This is also good way to build your confidence as a teacher and can be a great route to take if you are considering doing your teacher training in the future.

Role:

• In the absence of the regular teacher, supervise the class as they complete their work
• Ensure the class are on target with the pre-set work
• Effectively manage the behaviour of the class
• Upkeep a tidy, organised classroom with accessible resources where needed
• Direct and support any additional staff in the classroom where applicable
• Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and implement them effectively

Requirements:

• Recently completed undergraduate degree or higher
