Our Vision

Our vision & mission statement

At Step Teachers, we pride ourselves on providing an unparalleled level of service to our schools and teaching staff. We are recognised among our peers as being safer recruitment trailblazers and remain the country’s leading independent, family-run agency since we were established in 2000. That’s over two decades of recruiting, retaining, and placing fantastic teachers and support staff in our schools across, London, East Anglia, the Home Counties, and South West England. Our vision and mission statement has four objectives:

  • Promise to be

dedicated to teachers & support staff

As former teachers, we are passionate about developing winning careers that help raise the standard of education in our schools. We’re aware that this starts with recruiting and retaining the best local teachers and support staff. We achieve this by working hard to maintain meaningful and long-standing partnerships. This means we will always act ethically, honestly, and professionally. We will not be driven by targets and figures but by our desire to find you the right job.

  • Pledge to be Safer Recruitment Trailblazers

From the onset, it has been our pledge to be a safer recruitment and compliance best practices trailblazers. Early adopters of the REC’s and DfE’s Quality Mark before it evolved into the Audited Education gold standard; in 2017 we became the first agency to achieve 100% in the REC's Education Audit Online Diagnostic and have gone on two achieve this feat a further three times. The safety of the children in our care is paramount so this was a proud moment for everyone at Step Teachers.

  • Striving to be the greenest recruiter

The world is facing a critical emergency and the time for action is now. We’ve taken steps to encourage our staff to cycle to work, reducing printing, and reduce before recycling our office waste. We will continue to work and take decisions that limit our negative impact on the earth and its resources. We when we attend recruitment events, where possible we avoid handing out paper-based company literature and any offering avoid single-use plastic.

  • Prove our Corporate Social Responsibility

We always believed in looking after those that are less fortunate than ourselves. So, we take our charity work seriously. Each year, the staff chooses which charity Step Teachers will support and fundraise for. Staff are encouraged to get involved and are offered a paid day off work for fundraising or voluntary work.
