Job description
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a dedicated school team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting teaching and learning, delivering interventions, and leading lessons across a range of year groups. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as an HLTA:
Provide high-quality support to teachers in planning, preparation, and assessment.
Lead whole-class sessions and cover lessons in the absence of the teacher.
Deliver targeted interventions and support pupils with additional needs.
Support individual and small groups of pupils to maximise learning outcomes.
Assist in managing classroom behaviour and creating a positive learning environment.
Contribute to the wider school community, including clubs and school events.
Ideal HLTA:
Holds HLTA status (or is working towards it) with relevant experience in a school setting.
Has strong literacy, numeracy, and communication skills as an HLTA.
Demonstrates initiative, flexibility, and excellent classroom management.
Is confident leading lessons and supporting a range of learning abilities.
Works well as part of a team and builds positive relationships with pupils and staff.
