Job description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a caring and enthusiastic Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a nurturing and creative learning environment. This is a rewarding role ideal for someone passionate about early education and child development. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as KS1 Teaching Assistant:

 

  • Support the class teacher with the planning and delivery of engaging learning activities.

  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce core learning in areas such as phonics, reading, writing, and maths.

  • Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive, inclusive atmosphere.

  • Assist with preparing learning materials, displays, and classroom organisation.

  • Provide additional support for pupils with SEND, where appropriate.

Ideal KS1 Teaching Assistant:

  • Have experience working with children in a KS1 setting (Year 1 or Year 2).

  • Be knowledgeable about the KS1 curriculum and early learning strategies such as phonics programmes (e.g. Little Wandle or Read Write Inc).

  • Be patient, positive and adaptable, with strong communication and teamwork skills as a KS1 Teaching Assistant.

  • Hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.
