Job description

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to help children develop key skills and thrive during their crucial Key Stage 2 years. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a KS2 Teaching Assistant:

 

  • Support class teachers in delivering engaging lessons across KS2.

  • Work with small groups or individual pupils to reinforce learning in core subjects such as reading, writing, and maths.

  • Assist with preparing resources, setting up activities, and maintaining attractive classroom displays.

  • Support pupils with additional needs to ensure they can fully access the curriculum.

  • Help manage classroom behaviour and encourage a positive, inclusive learning environment.

  • Supervise pupils during break times, lunchtimes, trips, and school events as required.

  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

Ideal KS2 Teaching Assistant:

 

  • Previous experience working with primary-aged children is desirable.

  • A good understanding of the KS2 curriculum is an advantage.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills as a KS2 Teaching Assistant.

  • A patient, supportive, and proactive approach to helping children succeed.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils.
