Job description

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join an early years team on a full-time, permanent basis starting in January 2026.

This independent Christian primary school offers a nurturing environment for children aged 3 to 11. With a strong focus on academic, personal, and spiritual development, the school provides tailored learning from Nursery through to Reception. Staff foster respect, independence, and high achievement in a calm, supportive setting.

Duties as a Nursery Assistant:

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development
  • Support children’s personal, social, and emotional well-being through positive interaction and play
  • Help with feeding, toileting, and general personal care routines as required
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised learning environment
  • Observe and record children’s progress to support individual learning plans
  • Work closely with teachers, room leaders, and parents to ensure each child’s needs are met
  • Follow safeguarding and health and safety policies at all times

Ideal Nursery Assistant:

 

  • Previous experience working with young children in a nursery or early years setting is desirable
  • A warm, patient, and positive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills as a Nursery Assistant.
  • Relevant childcare qualifications (Level 2 or above) are advantageous
