Pre-school/Reception Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join an early years team, supporting children in our Pre-School and Reception classes. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone passionate about helping young children learn, grow and thrive in a nurturing environment. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Pre-school/Reception Teaching Assistant:

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate activities.

• Assist with the daily care and supervision of children, ensuring a safe and welcoming setting.

• Help to set up, organise and tidy away learning resources and play areas.

• Encourage positive social interactions and help develop children’s communication and personal skills.

• Work with small groups or individual children to support their learning and development.

• Observe and record children’s progress, sharing information with the teacher and parents as needed.

• Support children with personal care when necessary, in line with safeguarding and hygiene standards.

Ideal Pre-school/Reception Teaching Assistant:

• A warm, patient and nurturing approach to working with young children.

• Relevant experience in an early years or primary setting (desirable).

• A recognised Level 2 or 3 Early Years qualification is desirable but not essential.

• Good communication and teamwork skills as a Pre-school/Reception Teaching Assistant.

• An understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
