Secondary Teaching Assistant – Long-term, temporary and ongoing role starting immediately
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a school where pupils are supported to develop both academically and personally. Leaders have created a culture of high expectations and strong pastoral care, ensuring students feel safe and valued. Staff work collaboratively to provide consistent support, and pupils benefit from a broad curriculum and positive relationships with adults. Duties as Secondary Teaching Assistant:
- Provide in-class support across five lessons per day
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
- Support pupils with varying needs to stay focused and achieve learning objectives
- Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment
- Work one-to-one or in small groups with students who require additional support
- Collaborate with teaching staff to monitor progress and adapt support strategies
Ideal Secondary Teaching Assistant:
- Has previous experience supporting pupils in a classroom setting
- Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills as a Secondary Teaching Assistant
- Is confident managing behaviour and encouraging pupil engagement
- Works well as part of a team and takes initiative when needed
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Is flexible, reliable, and passionate about education
