Teaching Assistant

Are you a compassionate, proactive, and experienced Teaching Assistant with a strong background in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Our welcoming primary school in Essex is looking for a dedicated TA to join our Year 4 team and make a meaningful impact in the classroom.

About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 class, with a particular focus on providing tailored support to pupils with SEN. You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver targeted interventions, adapt learning activities, and foster an inclusive, positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with SEN, including those with ASD, ADHD, and speech & language needs

• Work collaboratively with the class teacher to implement differentiated learning strategies

• Support with classroom behavior management and engagement

• Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing

• Contribute to the wider life of the school and participate in training where necessary

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary setting

• Strong understanding of SEN and experience supporting pupils with additional needs

• Patience, adaptability, and a nurturing approach

• A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3) is desirable but not essential
