Job description

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school community in September 2025.

Duties as a Teaching Assistant:

 

  • Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons and learning activities.

  • Work with individual pupils or small groups to help them achieve their learning goals.

  • Assist with planning, preparation, and organisation of classroom resources.

  • Provide targeted support for pupils with additional needs or learning difficulties.

  • Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment.

  • Support pupils’ social and emotional development.

  • Accompany pupils on school trips, outings, or special activities as required.

  • Carry out administrative tasks such as photocopying and preparing learning materials.

  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents/carers, and other professionals as needed.

Ideal Teaching Assistant:

 

  • Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting (desirable).

  • Relevant qualification such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant Certificate (desirable).

  • A caring, patient, and flexible approach.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills as a Teaching Assistant.

  • Ability to work under the direction of the teacher and on your own initiative.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
