Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a Year 3 team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children in their learning and development, working closely with teachers to create a positive and engaging classroom environment. This role begins March 2025.
Duties as a Year 3 LSA:
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons to support all learners
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils who may need additional help
- Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages confidence and independence
- Support children with literacy, numeracy, and social skills through structured activities and interventions
- Assist with classroom preparation, organisation, and maintaining a stimulating learning space
- Supervise and support pupils during playtime, lunchtime, and school trips
- Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and parents to monitor pupil progress and well-being
- Encourage positive behaviour and support children’s social and emotional development
Ideal Year 3 LSA:
- A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate, CACHE, or equivalent)
- Experience working with primary school children, ideally in Key Stage 2
- A passion for supporting children’s learning and development
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A patient, proactive, and caring approach to working with children as a Year 3 LSA
- An understanding of child development and inclusive teaching practices
