Year 5 Teaching Assistant

A welcoming primary school in Oxfordshire is seeking a dedicated Year 5 Teaching Assistant to join their team from the end of September until the October half term, could potentially be needed for longer.

Duties as Year 5 Teaching Assistant:

• Work closely with the Year 5 teacher to deliver engaging, differentiated lessons.

• Provide targeted support for individuals and small groups, including pupils with additional needs.

• Assist with planning, preparation, and assessment activities.

• Help create a positive, inclusive classroom that encourages independence and a love of learning.

• Support behaviour management in line with school policies.

Ideal Year 5 Teaching Assistant:

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) and experience in a primary school setting.

• Strong literacy, numeracy and communication skills as a Year 5 Teaching Assistant.

• Patience, empathy and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

• A proactive, flexible approach and commitment to safeguarding.
