Awarded Preferred Supplier Status for the CCS Supply Framework Agreement

Step Teachers have been awarded preferred supplier status on the CCS & DfE sponsored supply teacher framework agreement.

The agreement represents the Department for Education’s first attempt to regulate the supply teaching market in England and Wales and Step Teachers is delighted to be at the centre of these changes. The framework seeks to provide greater transparency of costs to help schools control their supply spend and to ensure a consistent approach to safeguarding and compliance by agencies.

Chairman and Co-founder, Marios Georgiou wrote, ‘Our sector has needed more regulation and the CCS Framework represents a clear turning point; however, more is needed to protect teaching & support staff who have been underpaid (often forced to work via Umbrella companies) and schools’ being exploited by a few unscrupulous agencies.

What is the benefit of working with an agency on the framework?

  • Complete transparency of costs and pay

  • Robust background screening & safeguarding to DfE’s ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ standards for all agency staff

  • Preferred suppliers are audited & accredited to show they follow best-practice standards in education recruitment.
