Step Teachers has again been chosen as the County’s preferred supply teaching agency.  In January 2020, we were awarded the tender for the ‘Provision of Supply Teachers Framework’ making us the go-to agency for the county’s supply needs.

Step Teachers have been operating in Hertfordshire since 2000 and have been the County’s approved supplier, working alongside Herts for Learning Framework since 2014.

What this means for your establishment
Whether you’re local authority controlled, an academy or an independent school, working with us to find solutions to staffing means you’ll have the peace of mind that you’re working with an agency that ensures a compliant solution to your needs.   From our Hertfordshire branch in Stevenage and Head Office in Barnet, we work tirelessly to recruit local teaching talent to ensure we’re giving you access to the right candidates that suit your school.

Our place on the framework ensures we can provide your school with:

  • Emergency sickness, ad hoc cover teachers and support staff

  • Short-term supply options for interim solutions

  • Long-term and permanent specialists

  • Specialist and honest advice

  • Transparent pricing and refund policy on placements

  • Safety-first approach to safeguarding and vetting

Safer recruitment and vetting:
We take our safeguarding responsibility seriously and all workers are vigorously vetted before being selected for an appointment.

Our stringent vetting procedures have been designed to surpass the requirements placed on us by the Department for Education’s ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ guidance document.  We’re REC Education members and have held the REC’s Audited Education Status since it was launched in2013.

The following checks and procedures are carried out for all of our staff:

  • Full identity-check

  • Qualifications

  • DBS Barred List Check and NCTL Prohibition Check
