A shedload of silly, funny, and challenging fundraising ideas!

During the 22/23 academic year, the Step Family has embarked on some silly, funny and damn right challenging fundraising events. The response they’ve received has been nothing short of fantastic. We’ll soon be asking you for your help in choosing next year’s charity partner but before we do, let’s look back fondly at some of the team’s endeavours: During

  • In April, Harry put his woes of supporting Spurs behind him to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon in a lung busting time of 01:44:32 and helped raise £765. They all agree there was nothing Spursy about his performance.

  • Chantelle channelled her inner Rebecca Adlington to swim 25 miles in a month at Nuffield Health, Norwich. When asked why she decided to fundraise by swimming Chantelle said, ‘I have always loved swimming because of my late Nanny, she would go swimming every week and she’s reason I fell in love with swimming!’ Chantelle raised a splashing £323 pounds.

  • Our very own Rapunzel, Aidan Gracey, helped to raise £240 pounds when he cut his locks after growing it for some 2 and a half years, Aidan haircut helped raises £240 pounds.

  • While in the cold, dark and rain month of November, George beat the blues by taking himself and his beautify German Shepard puppy Lando, on a mission to walk 25 miles! Together they raised £225.

  • And later this month, Alex, Kim and Angela are taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge. For those of you that don’t know, The Three Peaks Challenge is one of the most popular trekking challenges in the UK and involves climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England, and Wales (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon), one after another – with an aim to complete the challenge within 24 hours, 48 hours or 3 Days! The guys have been training for months and have so far raised well over three thousand pounds. There’s still time to support them and the great work that PAPYRUS does!
