Job description
Step Teachers are working closely with a "Good" Ofsted-rated Primary School in Enfield to find a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their team for the summer term, starting in May 2024 for 1 day per week. This school is eager to find someone with experience working alongside a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, who can readily contribute to the school's diverse, motivated and friendly educational atmosphere.
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant you will:
- Make a positive impact on the lives of children with diverse learning needs.
- Assist the class teacher with planning and delivery of activities.
- Support the development of children’s language and communication skills.
- Encourage positive behaviour and providing pastoral support to children when required.
- Provide feedback to parents and carers on children’s progress and achievements.
To be considered for the 1:1 Teaching Assistant position you will have:
- Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Recent experience working as an SEND Teaching Assistant in a Primary School.
- Ability to support children with Autism, Global delay, ADHD and challenging behaviour.
- Experience helping children with Speech and Language development.
- Familiarity with the Early Years, KS1 and KS2 curriculums.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
