Animal Care Lecturer – Part-time, 30 hours per week, long-term temporary role starting ASAP

Duties as Animal Care Lecturer:

Deliver engaging lessons in animal care across a range of levels
Plan and prepare schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum requirements
Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback
Maintain accurate records of achievement and attendance
Support learners with practical skills development in animal handling and welfare
Contribute to departmental meetings and curriculum development
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all practical activities

Ideal Animal Care Lecturer:

Relevant teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one
Degree or equivalent qualification in Animal Care or related subject
Experience teaching or working within an educational setting
Strong knowledge of animal welfare, husbandry, and related practices
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Ability to inspire and motivate learners of varying abilities
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
