 Art Teacher (Long-Term to Perm)

Job Description: As an Art Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality art education to students from various age groups and skill levels. You will inspire and motivate students to explore their creativity, develop their artistic skills, and express themselves through various mediums. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of art history, techniques, and contemporary practices, and will be able to create engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.

Key Responsibilities of an Art Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver dynamic art lessons that align with the national curriculum and school objectives.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore their artistic abilities.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students on their artwork and assist them in refining their techniques.
  • Organize and supervise extracurricular art activities, such as art clubs or exhibitions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate art into cross-curricular projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessment results.
  • Stay updated on current trends and developments in art education and incorporate them into teaching practices.

Requirements of an Art Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of art history, theory, and practical techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire creativity and foster a love of art in students.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion in the classroom.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
