Job description

Caretaker – Part-time, long-term temporary and ongoing, starting immediately

Duties as Caretaker:

  • Ensure the school premises are clean, safe, and well-maintained
  • Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks promptly
  • Monitor and maintain health and safety standards across the site
  • Manage site security, including opening and closing the school
  • Support with setting up rooms and facilities for school activities
  • Liaise with contractors and report any major maintenance issues
  • Uphold safeguarding and compliance requirements at all times

Ideal Caretaker:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a school or facilities environment is desirable
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and site security
  • Practical skills for minor repairs and maintenance
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Reliable, proactive, and committed to maintaining a safe environment for pupils and staff
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check or have one registered on the Update Service
