Are you a passionate and talented Maths Graduate looking for an exciting opportunity in a 'Good' school? Step Teachers are working alongside a secondary school in North London who are seeking an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to instil that passion in the school’s students. This is a full-time 5-day-a-week role starting ASAP.

Role Overview: As a Mathematics Academic Mentor and Cover Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the academic progress and personal development of our students, while also ensuring the smooth operation of the school through cover supervision duties. You will work closely with students, teachers, and senior leadership to deliver high-quality education and maintain a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students in Mathematics, assisting with understanding concepts, completing assignments, and preparing for exams.
  • Develop and implement tailored intervention strategies to support students with varying learning needs and abilities.
  • Work as a Cover Supervisor during teacher absence, ensuring that pre-prepared work is completed and maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Uphold the school's behaviour management policies and intervene as necessary to address any disruptions or issues that arise during cover supervision.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to contribute to the development of schemes of work, resources, and assessment materials.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other school events as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Previous experience working with secondary school students, preferably in a mentoring or tutoring capacity.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and motivate students.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to working in a fast-paced educational environment.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team as a Cover Supervisor.
  • Flexibility to take on cover supervision duties as required.
