Job description

We are seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join a school on a long-term, ongoing basis starting as soon as possible.

This is a friendly and focused school where pupils feel safe, behave respectfully, and enjoy learning. Staff set high expectations and provide effective support, helping pupils achieve well. Enrichment activities, leadership roles, and special events broaden pupils’ experiences and support their personal development.

Duties as a Cover Supervisor:

 

  • Supervise classes during teacher absences and ensure continuity of learning
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and support students’ understanding
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Support students with SEND needs, ensuring they are included and supported in all activities
  • Report back to teaching staff on student progress and classroom activity

Ideal Cover Supervisor:

 

  • Previous experience working with students with SEND is essential
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills are essential for a Cover Supervisor.
  • Ability to adapt to different classroom environments
  • A positive, reliable, and proactive attitude
