Deputy Head of Year

An outstanding all-girls secondary school is seeking a Deputy Head of Year to support students’ academic and personal development and help maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment. Beginning ASAP.

Duties as Deputy Head of Year:

• Work closely with the Head of Year to oversee the pastoral care and wellbeing of students across the year group.

• Monitor attendance, behaviour, and academic progress, implementing interventions where needed.

• Provide guidance and support to students, promoting confidence, resilience, and ambition.

• Liaise with staff, parents/carers, and external agencies to ensure every student receives the support they need.

• Assist with the planning of assemblies, enrichment activities, and whole-school events.

Ideal Deputy Head of Year:

• Experience in a pastoral or middle leadership role within a school setting.

• Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to inspire young people.

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students as Deputy Head of Year.

• The ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families.
