Job description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Deputy Nursery Manager to help lead a nursery team.

As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will work alongside the Nursery Manager to ensure the nursery provides a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for all children. You will help oversee daily operations, support staff, uphold high standards of care and education, and maintain positive relationships with parents and carers. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as Deputy Nursery Manager:

  • Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery.

  • Lead and motivate the team to deliver high-quality care and early years education.

  • Ensure that safeguarding, health & safety and welfare requirements are always met.

  • Support with planning, implementing and reviewing the EYFS curriculum.

  • Assist with staff training, supervision and performance management.

  • Build strong, professional relationships with children, parents and carers.

  • Step in for the Nursery Manager when required.

Ideal Deputy Nursery Manager:

  • Hold a relevant childcare qualification (e.g. Level 3 or above in Early Years Education).

  • Have experience working in a nursery setting, ideally in a senior or leadership role.

  • Have a good understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures.

  • Be an excellent communicator with strong leadership and organisational skills as a Deputy Nursery Manager.

  • Be caring, approachable and committed to providing the best outcomes for children.
