Job description

Step Teachers are currently working with a school in Hatfield who are looking for an Art Teacher to start a part time role with them in September 2025. The role is at a specialist provision school who cater for students up to the age of 18 and offer a personalised learning programme for young people with eating disorders. Initially the role will be temporary role but there is the potential for the position to be made permanent for an Art Teacher who is able to embody the values of the school and effectively support the students with their learning.

This part time Art Teacher role will be three days a week and the school offers lesson's to their students in groups smaller than those in a mainstream school. Alongside others, the school values kindness and working together and aims to ensure no student feels that are missing out on their studies.

Art Teacher Role:

  • Able to plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons, and tailor these lessons to the students in the class
  • Maintain a well organised classroom and ensure the safe use and storage of all equipment
  • Work effectively with other members of staff, throughout the school as well as external professionals
  • Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback
  • Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these

Art Teacher Requirement:

  • Hold QTS/QTLS or an equivalent qualification
  • Have recent school-based experience as an Art Teacher with good knowledge of the curriculum
  • Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management
  • Be both personable and professional within the classroom
  • A relevant Art related degree is desirable
  • SEND and SEMH experience is desirable
