Job description

Are you an experienced early years practitioner ready to step up into a leadership role? We are looking for a committed and confident Deputy Room Leader to help lead and inspire a team in a busy, high-quality nursery setting. Beginning ASAP.

Duties as Deputy Room Leader:

 

  • Support the planning and delivery of engaging, age-appropriate activities

  • Provide a high standard of care and education, in line with the EYFS

  • Lead the room in the absence of the Room Leader

  • Supervise and mentor other staff in the room

  • Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues

  • Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and hygiene procedures are always followed

  • Contribute to observations and assessments of children’s development

Ideal Deputy Room Leader:

 

  • A full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an early years setting

  • A good understanding of the EYFS and child development

  • Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills as a Deputy Room Leader

  • A warm, positive, and professional approach

  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection (training provided if needed)
