Job description

Step Teachers are looking to recruit a Drama Teacher to work with our secondary school in Bow, East London. This will be starting in September 2022 and is available on a part-time basis. The role will require the Drama Teacher to teach KS3 English as well.

The school is a “good” Ofsted-rated school where the students are safe and happy, with excellent behaviour. Teachers encourage students to have opinions and debate topics, and teachers create an environment where they are free to share their opinions and thoughts.

The Role:

  • Strong Drama curriculum knowledge at KS3 & 4

  • Experience teaching English at a KS3 is advantageous

  • Willingness to engage with extra-curricular Drama activities would be advantageous

  • Upkeep a tidy, organised classroom with accessible resources where needed

  • Direct and support any additional staff in the classroom where applicable

  • Ability to assess and report on your students when required

  • Able to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons

  • Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and implement them effectively

Requirements

  • Hold QTS or the equivalent of

  • Have recent mainstream school-based experience

  • Relevant subject-specific degree is desirable
