Drama Teacher

Step Teachers are a preferred supplier for Teach in Herts; as a part of our ongoing success in building and retaining relationships with many schools and academy trusts in the area we are currently looking for a Drama Teacher to work in an Independent School in the Hertsmere District. The role is an ongoing supply role, starting in January 2024, teaching drama to Key Stage 2 age students; at the discretion of the school there is the potential for the position to be extended or made permanent.

Role:
- Good knowledge of the Drama curriculum and the ability to apply this effectively to different ages of students.
- Able to plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons in line with the school standards
- Maintain an organised and professional classroom with all of the associated resources
- Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the department and throughout the school
- Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback
- Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these
Requirements:
- Hold QTS or an equivalent qualification for teaching
- Have recent mainstream school-based experience teaching Drama
- Have recent experience teaching Primary age students
- Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management
- A relevant Drama related degree is desirable
- SEND experience is desirable
