Drama Teacher

Step Teachers are a preferred supplier for Teach in Herts; as a part of our ongoing success in building and retaining relationships with many schools and academy trusts in the area we are currently looking for a Drama Teacher to work in an Independent School in the Hertsmere District. The role is an ongoing supply role, starting in January 2024, teaching drama to Key Stage 2 age students; at the discretion of the school there is the potential for the position to be extended or made permanent.

Role:

• Good knowledge of the Drama curriculum and the ability to apply this effectively to different ages of students. 
• Able to plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons in line with the school standards 
• Maintain an organised and professional classroom with all of the associated resources
• Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the department and throughout the school
• Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback
• Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these

Requirements:

• Hold QTS or an equivalent qualification for teaching
• Have recent mainstream school-based experience teaching Drama
• Have recent experience teaching Primary age students
• Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management
• A relevant Drama related degree is desirable
• SEND experience is desirable
