Job description

Step Teachers are seeking qualified Early Years Practitioners for daily supply roles across nurseries in Enfield and the surrounding areas, starting as soon as possible.
 
This opportunity is within a range of nurturing and inclusive early years settings that prioritise the development, safety, and happiness of every child. Staff are supported through strong leadership and collaborative teams, and children are encouraged to explore, play, and learn in a stimulating environment that celebrates individuality and curiosity.
 
Early Years Practitioner Responsibilities
  • Support children’s learning and development through play-based activities
  • Assist with planning and delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging environment for all children
  • Observe and record children’s progress, sharing insights with colleagues and parents
  • Support children with personal care routines where required
  • Work collaboratively with nursery staff to meet individual needs
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
Ideal Candidate for Early Years Practitioner Roles
  • Relevant nursery or early years qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare)
  • Proven experience working in nursery or early years settings
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework
  • A nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills as Early Years Practitioners.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
