English Teacher
Job description
We are seeking a passionate and inspiring English Teacher to join our dedicated English department. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, fostering a love of literature and language while helping students develop the literacy and communication skills essential for their future success. Beginning June 2025.

Duties as an English Teacher:
Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4 (and KS5 if applicable).
Plan and deliver engaging lessons that challenge and motivate students of all abilities.
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress using both formative and summative approaches.
Prepare students for internal and external assessments, including GCSEs and/or A-levels.
Promote a love of reading, writing, and discussion both in and outside the classroom.
Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort, and achievement.
Contribute to the development of the English curriculum and departmental resources.
Participate in extra-curricular activities such as literacy clubs, theatre trips, and writing competitions.
Uphold school safeguarding procedures and promote student welfare.
Ideal English Teacher:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Have a degree in English or a related subject.
Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for English.
Be an excellent communicator and reflective classroom practitioner.
Have high expectations for all students and a commitment to inclusive education.
Be a collaborative team player who values professional development as an English Teacher.
Be confident in using technology to enhance learning.
