Examinations Officer
Job description
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Examinations Officer to join a school. This is a key role, ensuring the smooth and efficient administration of all internal and external examinations in line with awarding body regulations and school policies. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as an Examination Officer:
Manage the full examinations cycle, including entries, timetables, rooming, invigilation, and results.
Liaise with awarding bodies, staff, students, and parents regarding examination arrangements.
Recruit, train, and coordinate invigilators.
Ensure compliance with JCQ and awarding body regulations.
Prepare and distribute examination timetables and seating plans.
Organise secure storage and distribution of examination papers and materials.
Support students with special arrangements and access requirements.
Oversee the collection and distribution of results, including post-results services.
Ideal Examination Officer:
Strong organisational and administrative skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as an Examination Officer.
IT literate, with experience using data management systems (SIMS or similar desirable).
Experience in examinations administration (preferred but not essential – training will be provided).
- Must have completed at least one summer examination season.
