EYFS Teaching Assistant – Full-time, long-term temporary role starting February 2026


This school provides a warm and nurturing early years environment where children benefit from caring staff, clear routines, and engaging activities. Leaders work collaboratively with practitioners to maintain high standards of care and learning, helping young pupils develop confidence, curiosity, and strong early learning foundations. Duties as EYFS Teaching Assistant:

  • Support children’s development through structured and play‑based EYFS activities
  • Assist the class teacher with delivering age‑appropriate learning experiences
  • Maintain a safe, stimulating, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Contribute to observations, assessments, and planning
  • Help children develop early communication, literacy, and numeracy skills
  • Support social and emotional development through positive routines
  • Work collaboratively with EYFS staff to ensure consistency
  • Uphold safeguarding standards and prioritise child welfare

Ideal EYFS Teaching Assistant:

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification is essential
  • Experience supporting early years children
  • Warm, patient, and enthusiastic approach to early childhood development
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Able to follow consistent routines and contribute to planning
  • Reliable, proactive, and committed to high‑quality EYFS practice
