Job description

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and skilled Food Technology Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking department. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated educator with a passion for food and nutrition to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Food Technology Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum.

  • Create a safe, practical, and stimulating learning environment that promotes student interest in food, nutrition, and healthy living.

  • Support students in developing practical skills and theoretical knowledge, including food preparation, hygiene, and nutrition.

  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress and attainment of pupils.

  • Contribute to curriculum development and the wider life of the department, including extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities.

  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement, and progress.

Ideal Food Technology Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.

  • Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level.

  • Strong subject knowledge and a commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.

  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to motivate students of all abilities.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people as a Food Technology Teacher.
