General Science Teacher
Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring General Science Teacher to join a Science department. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and effective lessons across the Science curriculum to students at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a supportive and forward-thinking school that values high standards, creativity, and student achievement. Beginning June 2025.
Duties as a General Science Teacher:
Teach General Science (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) across KS3 and KS4.
Plan and deliver lessons that meet the needs of all learners and are in line with national curriculum expectations.
Prepare students for assessments and external exams such as GCSEs.
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress and attainment.
Create a safe and stimulating learning environment that fosters curiosity and achievement.
Use a variety of teaching strategies and technologies to engage all learners.
Manage classroom behaviour effectively and promote a positive learning atmosphere.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop resources and share best practices.
Contribute to wider school life, including clubs, trips, or science events.
Ideal General Science Teacher:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Have a degree in Science or a related subject.
Be confident teaching all three sciences at KS3 and at least one at KS4.
Be passionate about science education and inspiring young people.
Have excellent communication and classroom management skills as a General Science Teacher.
Be committed to continuous professional development and teamwork.
Understand and support the school's values, policies, and safeguarding expectations.
