Geography Teacher
Job description
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Geography Teacher to join a Humanities department. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality lessons that inspire curiosity about the world and deepen students' understanding of human and physical geography. You will play a vital role in developing students’ awareness of global issues and preparing them for success in both examinations and the wider world. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a Geography Teacher:
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Geography lessons in line with national curriculum requirements across KS3, KS4.
Foster a stimulating classroom environment that encourages enquiry, discussion and independent thinking.
Assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of students.
Adapt teaching to meet the needs of students of all abilities, including those with SEND or EAL.
Contribute to curriculum development, including schemes of work and enrichment activities.
Prepare students for internal and external assessments (GCSE/A-level, as applicable).
Promote fieldwork and out-of-classroom learning opportunities where possible.
Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Humanities department and across the school.
Participate in school events, CPD, parents' evenings and meetings as required.
Uphold the school’s behaviour, safeguarding and equality policies at all times.
Ideal Geography Teacher:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Have a degree in Geography or a related subject.
Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for Geography education.
Be an enthusiastic, reflective and innovative practitioner.
Have excellent communication and classroom management skills as a Geography Teacher.
Be committed to improving outcomes for all learners and contributing to whole-school life.
