Job description

HLTA – Full-time PPA cover, 5 days per week, starting as soon as possible until the summer with potential to go temp to perm

Duties as HLTA:

  • Deliver PPA cover across a range of classes in line with planned learning
  • Lead whole-class teaching with confidence
  • Support pupils in accessing learning and maintaining engagement
  • Assist with planning and resourcing when necessary
  • Lead small group interventions to support progression
  • Implement behaviour management strategies effectively
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Contribute to wider school life and support colleagues as needed

Ideal HLTA:

  • HLTA qualification or significant experience working at HLTA level
  • Strong background in sports and confidence delivering PE lessons
  • Ability to lead whole-class teaching independently
  • Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
  • Adaptable across year groups and subject areas
  • Professional, reliable, and supportive of whole-school aims
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
