History Teacher
Job description
We are looking for a History Teacher to join a school, providing temporary ongoing cover starting in November 2025.
Pupils enjoy coming to school and feel safe, supported, and challenged to do their best. Strong relationships with staff and peers foster a positive learning environment. Behaviour is calm and focused, with engaging lessons that help pupils retain knowledge. A wide range of enrichment activities, including educational visits and work experience, supports pupils’ personal growth and future aspirations.
Duties as a History Teacher:
Delivering pre-prepared History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
Ensuring lessons run smoothly and that pupils remain engaged and on task
Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
Providing feedback to the appropriate staff where required
Supporting pupils’ learning and maintaining a positive classroom environment
Ideal History Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching History at secondary level
Strong classroom management and communication skills as a History Teacher.
