Job description

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and committed team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young children thrive in a nurturing and stimulating learning environment. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a KS1 Teaching Assistant:

 

  • Support teaching and learning across Year 1 and Year 2, working closely with the class teacher.

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support, including for pupils with additional needs.

  • Assist with the preparation of resources, activities, and displays.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes children’s personal and academic development.

  • Encourage good behaviour, independence, and social interaction among pupils.

Ideal KS1 Teaching Assistant:

 

  • A relevant Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).

  • Experience working with children in a KS1 or early years setting is desirable.

  • A patient, nurturing, and flexible approach.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills as a KS1 Teaching Assistant.

  • A clear understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to pupil wellbeing.
