Job description

KS1 Teaching Assistants/MSAs (1:1) – Full-time, temporary ongoing positions starting as soon as possible

We are seeking two committed KS1 Teaching Assistants/MSAs to provide 1:1 support in a nurturing and inclusive school environment. The school offers a broad and engaging curriculum, and pupils are enthusiastic learners who feel safe and well cared for. Staff are proud to work at the school and benefit from strong leadership that prioritises professional development and pupil outcomes. The school fosters a culture of respect, inclusion, and high expectations for all.

Duties as KS1 Teaching Assistant/MSA:

  • Provide 1:1 support to pupils in Key Stage 1
  • Assist in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions
  • Help manage behaviour and promote emotional regulation strategies
  • Support pupils during lunch and break times as a Midday Supervisor Assistant
  • Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment

Ideal KS1 Teaching Assistant/MSA:

  • Experience working with children in Key Stage 1
  • Understanding of behaviour management and emotional support strategies
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals
  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting pupils
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training and development
