Level 3 SEMH Teaching Assistant – Full-time, temp to perm position starting January 2026

We are seeking a dedicated Level 3 SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive secondary school environment. Duties as Level 3 SEMH Teaching Assistant:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs
Assist in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions
Help manage behaviour and promote emotional regulation strategies
Support pupils in developing confidence, resilience and independence
Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs and external professionals
Maintain a safe, inclusive and structured learning environment

Ideal Level 3 SEMH Teaching Assistant:

Holds a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent
Experience working with secondary-aged pupils with SEMH needs
Strong understanding of behaviour management and emotional support strategies
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Patient, empathetic and resilient approach to supporting young people
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
