Step Teachers are seeking a qualified Music Teacher to work in a school in the Breckland district in Norfolk, starting September 2024. The role is a long-term supply role but is likely to turn permanent. 

The school is a “Good” Ofsted-rated school that has been praised for its focus on getting the behaviour right in the school. The lessons and curriculum are planned to ensure pupils deepen their thinking and the curriculum is more effective. The trust is supportive and ensures that the leaders have the resources they need.  

Your duties as a Music Teacher:

• To pitch Music lessons at an age-appropriate level
• Ability to adapt lessons and approaches depending on the individual child/ whole class ability
• To identify and report on the children's progress and any further areas of development
• To work closely with the families to best support the students
• Putting together additional resources needed to help the students access the learning, with the aid of the class teacher
• Working closely with the Class Teacher to best support the students

To be considered for the position of Music Teacher, you will: 

• Hold QTS or the equivalent
• Hold a relevant Music qualification or extensive, referenceable experience teaching Music
• Have experience working with students with special educational needs
• Be patient and empathetic, with a strong ability to build rapport with students
• Knowledge of effective teaching and behaviour management strategies
• Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
